Hypnosis Research
There is an abundance of research regarding Hypnosis and pain reduction. You can
search and read numerous articles going decades in the past. In fact, in 1958, the
American Medical Association approved the use of hypnosis to help with pain
management.
Below are just a few of these articles:
Thomas H. McGlashan, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia,
1969.
Found that for poorly hypnotizable people, hypnosis was as effective in reducing pain
as a sugar pill that the subjects had been told was a powerful painkiller. But highly
hypnotizable subjects benefited three times more from hypnosis than from the
placebo.
National Institutes of Health, 1996.
An assessment panel judged hypnosis to be an effective intervention for alleviating pain
from cancer and other chronic conditions.
International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis.
Found that hypnotic suggestions relieved the pain of 75 percent of 933 subjects
participating in 27 different experiments.
American Gastroenterological Association, 2006
Cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnotherapy have been successfully used in the
treatment of a variety of chronic syndromes, including common functional disorders
of the gastrointestinal tract, such as irritable bowel syndrome.
Newsweek, 2007.
... a growing body of research supports the ancient practice as an effective tool in the
treatment of a variety of problems, from anxiety to chronic pain.

How Many Appointments Will You Need?
The average number of times a client will see me for a particular reason is
generally 3 – 5 appointments. It takes 3 - 4 appointments to learn self hypnosis
so you can easily reinforce your positive changes at home.
As a Certified Hypnotherapist with the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH),
I am committed to helping you achieve the change you desire through hypnosis
so that you can experience life the way you desire.
"The content of the NGH curriculum was organized and well presented. The NGH material provided not only worked as great learning tools, but will continue to offer valuable information as time goes on.
As each class progressed, all of the information really pulled together and I was amazed at how much was learned on a week to week basis.
"It was also incredibly helpful to address the 'business' aspect...designing business cards and brochures. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who is looking to help make a positive difference in people's lives!" Kimberly Bonita, CH , NJ

"I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank you for the wonderful experience I had while at the Hypnosis Institute of Pennsylvania. The amount of information I was able to learn in such a short period of time was amazing!
You have provided me with all of the knowledge and skills to become a successful hypnotist. After taking this course I felt extremely well prepared and ready to start my own hypnosis practice.
Your availability and willingness to answer my questions (even after the course ended!) was very helpful. The genuine interest you have in your students is refreshing." Patricia Blanchfield, CH, Wilmington

"Hypnosis is actually a way of enhancing people's control, of teaching them how to control aspects of their body's function and sensation that they thought they couldn't."
Dr. David Spiegel, Stanford University School of Medicine, 2004

Back in 1978 I learned self hypnosis in a course called Silva Mind Development
taught in Philadelphia by Jeannie Bengtson.
I didn’t think much about it or use it that often. At that time, while in my early 20's,I
didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life, so I decided to take a job working for
a brokerage firm in Center City, Philadelphia.
One year later I was in the firm's Account Executive training program, studying to
become a Philadelphia broker. For 4 months I studied stocks , options, municipal
bonds and SEC Rules. I was preparing to take the most important exam in my
life, the 6 hour New York Stock Exchange Series 7 Exam. I had to pass the exam
to become licensed as a broker. I was nervous and anxious about the huge
amounts of information I needed to learn.
Remembering how powerful self-hypnosis was, I used the technique every day –
for about 5 minutes a day. With self hypnosis I eliminated my fears, easily learned
the subject matter and successfully passed the NYSE Exam to become a
licensed broker with Merrill Lynch.
Success with Public Speaking
To achieve success and connect with as many people as possible, I chose to
speak to groups about investing. My first talk was for a group of 15 retired women.
I stood up and began to speak. I was petrified. My heart was pounding. My knees
began to feel like jelly. I don't remember finishing, but I do remember the relief I
experienced when it was finally over.
I knew I needed help again, so I turned to self hypnosis. I was confident it would
work, just as it worked helping me get over my test anxiety.
Every day, for about 10 minutes, I practiced self hypnosis to provide me with the
confidence needed to make cold calls and to feel comfortable with public
speaking. A month later when I gave a seminar to over 200 people at the John
Wanamaker Department Store in Philadelphia, I found myself actually enjoying
speaking in public! I knew then that the positive technique of hypnosis had
enabled me to do things that I never imagined I could do.
How Do I know Hypnosis Can Help Me?
Fast forward 30 years and I am now helping others with hypnosis. I know it works.
I've even used it to lose weight. (Over 33 pounds in 8 months).
I help many clients using hypnosis in the Philadelphia area and suburbs. I know
that no matter how old you are, you can always benefit from hypnosis. My clients
have ranged from 8 years to 75. Hypnosis has helped an eight year old to stop
sucking his thumb, and recently a 72 year old woman used hypnosis to stop
smoking.
The perfect time to make a change in your life is when you are ready.
I'm ready to help you with Hypnosis to enjoy your life today.

About Me
I'm a 52 year old mom of two children and the owner of a retired greyhound. I help
clients in the Philadelphia area with hypnosis because I believe that it's one of the
most powerful tools we have available to us to change our lives.

What happens during a session?
During your session, you will hear specific suggestions to help you with your
issue.
Hypnotists and hypnosis research has found that success can be improved by
custom tailoring suggestions and self hypnosis affirmations to the client's needs.
Therefore a successful session on losing weight for you would be vastly different
from a session for your neighbor.
As a Certified Hypnosis Trainer with the National Guild of Hypnotists, every
student is taught how to custom tailor sessions to meet their clients needs. As
an NGH Certified Hypnotist, my goal is to help YOU achieve the success you
